A message from Mark Barker (Group Finance Director):
The situation with regards to the COVID-19 pandemic is changing on a daily basis. The management team have been closely monitoring the situation and following the advice from the government to ensure we are doing everything possible to prevent the spread of the virus and protect the health and wellbeing of our colleagues and their families.
Due to the temporary closure of some of our key suppliers both in the UK and abroad, we have taken the decision this week to place a number of our staff in our aluminium business on "Furlough Status" for the next three weeks. We will still be able to supply items we have in stock although this may be delayed due to levels of absenteeism in our warehouse. We will also take orders for parts our customers need, the lead times for these will be dependent upon when our suppliers are fully operational once again. All e-mails coming into the business will go to a central mail box and be dealt with by the remaining admin staff.
All other businesses in the group are still functioning normally, and it is business as usual.
We apologise for any inconvenience that the measures we have put in place may cause and we thank you for your continued support and understanding through these unprecedented times.
