Chub club charity weight loss challenge

At BWC Group we are never shy of a challenge, and we love to raise money for good causes.

Our MD Guy Barker suggested a post-Christmas "Chub Club" for us to turn back into prime examples of the human specimen.  We all thought this was a great idea, having never been a 'prime example' previously...

What was involved.. We spent two months (January and February) of this year watching our calorie intake very carefully and being as pro-active as possible, getting on our bikes, walking, and generally being healthy to shed those extra-pounds gained by the Christmas season.

As a team we collectively lost 144lbs, which is the equivalent of 65 bags of sugar.  As a consequence the company put £1100 into a fund to be distributed between our chosen charity organisations.

Our nominated charities and the percentage split of funds were as follows:

  • British Heart Foundation   - 25% = £275
  • Marie Curie Cancer Care - 50% = £550
  • Multiple Sclerosis Society - 25% = £325

It has been a great effort by all and thanks so much to everyone for participating!

Please see our lovely thank you letters from the MS Society, The British Heart Foundation and Marie Curie.
